A COMMUNAL SESSION WITH FRIENDS

EDICIÓN — LA HAMBURGUESA

a night of stillness, where the space transforms into a restaurant –
a thoughtful curation of local chefs, alongside our in-house team.

Hernan Rivera — LA HAMBURGUESA

Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona in 1997, Hernan is a first-generation American raised by two immigrant parents who built everything from the ground up.

His father, Hernan Rivera Sr., entered the food business nearly 30 years ago and was one of the first to bring Sonoran-style hot dogs to Phoenix. Food wasn’t just around him growing up, it was the family’s livelihood, their culture, their story.

Because of that, he tried to distance himself from it.

He pursued boxing, chasing discipline and a different identity, searching for something that felt separate from the life he grew up in. But roots have a way of calling you back.

When he got married and his daughter was born, everything shifted. Fatherhood changed his perspective. It wasn’t about running from where he came from anymore, it was about building something his daughter could one day be proud of.

That’s when La Hamburguesa was born.

What started as responsibility turned into purpose. What felt like pressure became passion. Today, Hernan fully embraces the craft, the culture, and the community that shaped him — creating his own chapter in a story that started long before him.

And this time, he’s all in.
